Roberta Cesa graduated in 1998 in Biological Sciences at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences at the University of Turin. She acquired additional educational and professional experiences at the "Rita Levi Montalcini Center for Brain Repair", University of Turin, where, in 2004, she got a PhD in Neuroscience. She also spent a period at the Columbia University, New York, to carry out collaborative research on the study of the central nervous system plasticity. She received invitations to participate to international congresses and her contribution to the scientific research is recognised by several publications in international journals. She has started working in the intellectual property field in 2010. Her main areas of expertise are pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, plant variety rights, life and health sciences.

Admitted to practice as Patent Attorney before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office as well as the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), registered for representation before the Unified Patent Court as a European Patent Litigator.
